Any experience with Sprint on Kauai. North Shore especially?

You're going to be in Hawaii...why in teh world would you even need to have a phone w/you ?

Wow, that looks scary but will take you right to the page where you can select which "city" in Hawaii you'll be in.

It was either my phone (Sprint) or my friend's phone (don't know the company he uses) that didn't even work in Poipu, so I don't think we bothered taking our phones to the North Shore. I guess that means it could work there, but don't count on it.

I also checked cellreception.com to see whose towers were on the north shore. It looks like outside of Lihue, we will be on digital roam.

I just wanted to get some practical feedback from those who have tried to use Sprint on the island, to see how good/bad it is.

We just returned from Kauai yesterday and I have a Sprint phone. I got great coverage on the East side in Lihue and Kapaa but on our way to the North shore, a couple miles past Kapaa, the service changed to roaming. The same thing happened as we headed to Poipu. The East side of Kauai was the only area that we weren't on Roam.

Thanks, JAKCruiser. I don't mind being on digital roam, just as long as we have a signal.
