Springsteen/Shea/Place to Stay?

We plan on attending the Springsteen concert at Shea Stadium. Looking for a place to stay where we would not have to drive and park at the concert. Have an morning flight out of LGA. Is there any nearby towns with hotels where we could use public transportation to and from the show? Thank you.

There are hotels in the immeidate vacinity of the airport and Shea Stadium. Don't know about walking there from the hotels, but there will be cabs.

YOu can stay in Manhattan and take the #7 train right to Shea.

Have a great time.

If you are just flying in and out for the concert, I would suggest you stay at one of the airport hotels. There is a Courtyard by Marriot, Marriot, Clarion and others. You'll be able to get a hotel bus from the airport to the hotel. There won't be public transport to Shea. We did a similar thing for a baseball game and used a car service suggested by the hotel. Be sure to arrange a specific pickup place for the end of the concert.

Thank you for the info. Was able to get a room at the Courtyard by Marriott that included transportation to and from the concert. What a deal!

Great news. By the way, the Courtyard has a free coffee station near the front desk. It's tuck away behind a wall so you may need to ask them to point it out. Handy for that first morning cuppa.
