Springdale or Mt. Carmel - Where to Stay?
Have everything scheduled but place to stay close to Zion. Should we stay in the Springdale area or Mt. Carmel area? Thanks to everyone for your help.

For LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION you will want to stay in Springdale. Your views from town are fantastic!
Springdale is right at the gate to the South entrance station to Zion. From your lodgings in Springdale you can catch a free town shuttle to take you to the entrance station to Zion. From there you can get the free shuttles to see the scenic Zion Canyon. You can not drive on the scenic drive in a private vehicle from April to October. You can drive through Zion on Hwy 9.

Stay at the Desert Pearl in Springdale if possible - it was absolutely wonderful. We didn't want to leave there. My kids would love to get back to Zion - we just have too many places to see and not enough time! Some day we will return.

I totally agree with Springdale. We loved The Desert Pearl Inn and hope to get back there this summer.
Mt. Carmel looked nice as we drove through, but isn't nearly as charming as Springdale and doesn't have the Zion Canyon views. However, DH did notice an interesting golf course in Mt. Carmel!
