Spring 03 Vacation - need destination

I usually try to go on a nice trip in the spring of each year. I need ideas for Spring 2003. Things we done and really liked:

- Grand Canyon - Navajo Reservation (extreme western edge only). We liked the hiking and ruins.

- Hawaii - lot to see and do.

- Cancun - very comfortable hotel for the money. Saw Tulum and Chichen-Iza.

- Disneyworld

- Washington, DC - I could spend a year here seeing the museums, monuments, etc.

Money is important, but not the biggest factor. We are generally gone for seven days. As you can see, we like historical and natural wonders but other attactions (Disney World) are not out of the question.

The trip I must take before I die is to see the Incan ruins. I'm not sure of the current political and social climate in Peru though.

Thanks

I haven't been to all of these places, and I don't know if you have children but here are a few ideas: San Diego (where I live)so, if you have questions I'll try to answer, but I don't know anything about hotels; New Orleans; San Francisco, Wine country, Yosemite; Arches Natl Park (maybe not a week though?); Virginia, Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, beach.

I hope this helps gets you started! Happy planning!

I agree with Yosemite in spring. It's beautiful!

You can easly spend a week in the Moab, Utah area. Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, Scenic Hwy 128 to Fisher Towers, Dead Horse State Park, Potash Road with petroglyphs. Rent a jeep and go 4 wheel driving in some of natures most scenic areas.

Hi Mike,
There are excellent deals to Europe at that time of year. If you liked Washington D.C.'s monuments and museums than Rome or London would knock your socks off.

i agree with previous poster...try Europe!! The 2 best family vacatioons we've ever had have been Europe (Germany/Switzerland/Austria) and Yellowstone National Park. Our other vacations have been Yosemite (fine, but not Yellowstone), San Francisco, New England (also very enjoyable). Have FUN, and let us know where you decide to go...

With kids, you can't beat San Diego or Yosemite. Europe is a great choice if you can get the right deal.

Our favorite spring trip has been to Costa Rica; no ruins but volcanoes, rain forest, cloud forest, lakes, beaches, a very fascinating country!

Hi Mike!
Ingrid took my answer, but maybe because you're posting on the US board, you're looking for something in the States ;-)

Here are some of my suggestions:
Albuquerque and Taos, New Mexico
Northern Calif
Seattle and Vancouver--ok, so Van is not in the US, but it's close!
New York City
Chicago
Upper Peninsula (Michigan)
South Florida and Florida Keys

Have fun where ever you go!

If you like ruins how about Tulum, Mexico. Others, Belize or Paris (I'll be in Paris).
