Sports bar in SF?
We'll be in SF from 4-20 through 4-25.
My husband and I would like to watch the NFL Draft on 4-20. Can anyone recommend a good local sports bar in SF? We're staying at the Harbor Court Hotel near the Embarcadero and Steuart. We know the Hyatt's have Knuckles Sports Bars but we'd like to know if there is anything with a local flare nearby. Thanks

I'm anxious to see the responses to this one. I'm 45 and have lived in the Bay Area all my life but in my experience the Peninsula is where you'll find the bulk of true 49er fans. If someone knows a sports bar in the City where 49er fans really get together to watch the games (let alone the draft), I'd sure love to know about it.

Alohaaa,
NFL-I can't add much more than what Sue'spike said. I've heard of O'Shea's but not the other 2. I also saw where a "Greens" was mentioned? Haven't followed up on it. We were at the Fish Wharf's Hyatt Knuck's in March and it tried to be local, but.
Mike-I think Gordon Biersch's on Embarcadero almost under the Bay Bridge is where KGO radio has the post game 49er party and it sounds like a lot of fans are there. GARLIC FRIES!
BTW, It is just a few blocks down from Harbor Court Hotel (nice hotel-stayed there for business-nice view of the Bay Bridge).
S'spike-Shanghai Kelly's doesn't open until noon so we are looking for alternative sites, prob. Gordon Biersch's if they open at 10am. We may just bar hop the draft. If you and any other Steeler fans are interested, drop me a line so we don't bore people on the board.
We were in NYC for a visit one year on the day of the draft and watched the tail end of the draft at McSorley's Ale House and had a blast...even if it was with mostly Jets fans. (ha)

We spent a Sunday afternoon watching football games at Pier 23 on the Embarcadero last December and had a great time. Don't know if they'll have the draft on and I wouldn't really call it a sports bar but it's a local spot. They opened by 10 that Sunday so imagine at least the same for Saturday. Give them a call.

Mike, I gotta agree with you there. The best time to go grocery shopping in Redwood City is during a Niners game. Place is empty.
Can't name a particular Niners sports bar in the city, Pat O'Shea's would be my best guess, but I'm a Raiders fan myself ;-)
Besides being a Steelers fan. Kal, too bad about Shanghai Kelly's and the draft!
