Looking for a spa that gives great facials in New York City - any suggestions?

I used to go to the Essex House spa for facials by a Columbian woman who is just excellent, almost 30 yrs of experience and she gives a very pampering, European style facial. She worked there and at another hotel spa, I think the Ritz Carlton but not sure. She is the only person I let do facials on me. She now works out of her apartment, has a separate private cosmetology area set up, very professional. She is wonderful. If you decide you don't have to have a spa setting, let me know and I will give you her info. Her charge is somewhat less than it was when she was affiliated w/the spas. I go see her when I am in NYC, and like I said, no on else anywhere gives me a facial.

Mario Bedescu is also supposed to be good.

Georgette Klinger is also known for facials.

emd, curious about what your lady does that's so special. Is she midtown?

She is very gentle. I hate having my face "manipulated" and she is very sensitive about that. She is also a very soothing person, very attuned to how comfortable you are or aren't, and what you like and don't like. And she uses good European products. When she gets done, I feel like I've spent a whole day at a spa, it is that relaxing and my skin is glowing. And she takes her time, no rush at all.
She is on West 58th, btwn. 6th and 5th.

BLISS - they have 2 locations - 1 in Soho and the other W 57th. I think the website is www.bliss.com - Saturday appts are hard to come by - need to book at least 10 weeks out! All treatments there are A+

I second Susan Ciminelli at Bergdorf's, best facial I've ever had.
