Southern Maine Coastal Lodging
This may be a lot to ask for, but here it goes. I am trying to plan a weekend trip for the last weekend in August to southern Maine. I am looking for a hotel or inn that is oceanfront, although my room does not have to be. I have been thinking about Kennebunkport, Ogunquit, and York Harbor, but as my search is late in the summer it has been difficult. Does anyone have any recommendations for lodgings under $175/night that is on the ocean, relatively nice, and still available. Help me please!!

Why not go to Priceline's Shop and Compare and see what choices they offer you? It is late but vacancies do happen. You might even expand your choices a bit by moving up state a bit--Boothbay? for example? Good Luck!

Further north you might look at www.billowhouse.com, not sure if they have anything available and not much to do around there except enjoy the beach. About 25 min south of Portland, maybe 25 min from Kennebunk.

Try the Anchorage Inn York Beach. I believe you can get a room for under $175 and it is directly across from a nice beach. They have three pools and a fitness center. We were very pleased with our stay there.
