South Maui Luau?
Any recommendations on a luau in the south Maui area? Are there any within walking distance of the Grand Wailea? I have read the many recommendations for the Old Lahaina Luau, which is still under consideration, but thought I would see what our other options are. We will be in Maui during Easter week. Thanks.

I have been to the luau at the Wailea Marriott as well as the Old Lahaina Luau. I liked them equally, and the food is equally mediocre at both. Supposedly the OLL is more "authentic", but I like the fire dancer at the Marriott. The setting is lovely, too, with the dancers backdropped by the ocean and the setting sun. I don't like the drive from Lahaina back to the South shore in the dark, so would try to find something closer to "home".

We enjoyed the Wailea Marriot luau - we didnt expect high end gourmet but food was OK, their fire-knife dancer was great and the setting is beautiful. We were staying in south Kihei and really enjoyed not driving back from Lahaina! The O.L.L. sells out a long way in advance so be sure to book very early. Feast of Lele was also recommeded, but as I recall has a slightly different format.
Not all luaus are offered every night - Maui Prince (check website, I seem to recall Sun, Tues and Thurs) and Wailea (Wed, Fri ?) were both recommended as good, and we picked the one that fit our other activities.
