South Florida transportation

Hi all,
In two weeks my husband and I are going to a wedding in Fort Lauderdale and we'll spend a couple days in South Beach after. We plan to rent a car for Thursday through Sunday in Fort Lauderdale, drive to South Beach on Sunday, turn in the car, and either get car service or taxi back to FLL on Tuesday morning.

I saw a car service called Larry's Limo recommended on this website, and their rate to get from South Beach hotel to FLL is $65. Do you all think a taxi would be less expensive? Also, is it customary to tip for car service? I've only taken on corporate account before so I have no idea. Any advice on the best way to get to airport would be appreciated. Thanks for your help!

I think his price is excellent and a taxi would end up costing more money especially if you hit traffic. It is customary to tip 20% to the driver.

BTW - do you have his phone number as I need a limo from Boca to MIA and back.

Thanks.

I just called them - while giving you a very good rate, he quoted me a very high rate, so I am going to use the airport shuttle service.

Have fun in South Beach.

Super Shuttle services South Beach. I took to FLL last trip. Will have to check their web site for current rates. I am sure it's less per person.

Downsides are that you go on their schedule, not yours. And you are certain to stop at one or two other hotels.

About your question on whether to tip the car service -

Sometimes the tip is already included, so always check before adding anymore to the total.

Thanks! I reserved with Larry's, and he did tell me that 20% would be added, so my total cost will be $78.
