South Dakota "base camp"
Want to fly into Rapid City and visit the Badlands/Black Hills/Mt. Rushmore/Custer State Park and Sturgus for 7 days. Is Rapid City a good base camp to stay at?

It depends on how much you want to drive everyday. Rapid city is fine, however Hill city and Keystone are also good options for the southern part of the black hills.
