Tip for packing: Pack a few of your things in one bag and some in the other...same for the Yankee. That way, if one bag is 'postponed' you'll each have something to wear until the other bag is found.

On our last family trip to Calif, my daughter's huge suitcase went over the limit and we had to pay a fee. My husband insisted we distribute more evenly for the return trip, and you guessed it, we had to pay for 3 overwieght bags!
