Sonoma Vacation Rental Advice

After a fair amount of deliberation, my husband and I have decided to have an extended holiday in Sonoma...likely between 4 and 6 weeks in November / December of this year. We'd like to rent a vacation rental for the entire time and have been scouring the internet trying to find something suitable. We've sent out a few emails asking for more information but we'd love to hear some recommendations from this board.

Thanks in advance,
Cary

razzledazzle - Yes - we do realize what the weather will be like and we're OK with that. We're really just looking to relax and be away from tourists (we live in Bermuda!). We just want to take cooking classes, drink lots of great red wines and enjoy some time off before we relocate.

Yes - we've tried vrbo and lots of other websites. I guess I'm interested in hearing about particularly rentals that people have used in the past. It's hard to narrow down our search and pick something as there is just so much out there!

Thanks,
Cary

Wow Cary, that sounds really nice. Enjoy your time. Are you also going to pop in to San Francisco for at least an opera or a show of some sort?

We stayed in a vrbo at the end of Napa Street in Sonoma town earlier this summer. We were only there for a couple of nights, and it was a small group of women only. But, the house was wonderful. It was walking distance to the Fig Pantry and less than 2 miles from Sonoma town. The bedrooms were comfy (with memory foam) and the house had a huge and private backyard with hot tub and swimming pool.

The hosts were wonderful as the place was left spotless for us and fully stocked with plates and all the kitchenware you can imagine. They even left us a welcome bottle of wine. The kitchen was slab granite and the house was in terrific condition. We had 2 bedrooms and 2 baths.

The accomodations were terrific, and compared to the hotel prices (with the availability we could find), it was a deal. I can look up the vrbo number if you want.

That rental sounds fabulous !
and it's in a good location in Sonoma town. That time of year I would not choose a rental near the Russian River area as it is prone to flooding.
Do venture up there for day trips, it is beautiful !
Glad you are still going to visit us,
caryanne.

maria_so - Yes, we definitely plan on making a few day trips to San Francisco. That's one of the many reasons that we're interested in Sonoma...it's proximity to SF.

lovesadventure - I would love it if you could look up the vrbo number. That would be a huge help. It's sounds like a great place.

R5 - I'm glad too...I can't wait. We were there last year in August and Somona was the best part of our 2 week California trip.

Phil and Linda are the owners, I emailed with Linda and she sent me photos of the bedrooms etc and answered all my questions before sending in the deposit.
