Sonoma Valley cottage rental

Hubby and I will need accommodations for 3 nights (Nov.1-3) in the Sonoma Valley. Am thinking of booking a cottage instead of a B&B or hotel. Several are listed on craigslist. Has any fodie experience in doing this? Any recommendations? Thanks!

No specific recommendations come to mind, but you should try the following:

www.vrbo.com

www.homeaway.com

Thanks, bobludlow, for the suggestions. I'll take a look. Am hoping for some personal references.

Anyone out there able to comment?

Where exactly are you looking? Stayed in a modest, but nice attached cottage in Sonoma town about a block from the square. If that interests you, I'm happy to look up its listing.

Here it is (below), though it looks like the price has increased a good bit (I think I remember paying $225/night?). It's not the ritz, but quiet and comfortable with a couple nice outside areas (no views or anything like that though). Small, but full kitchen. Even though it's technically attached, it's hard to tell (i.e. never see/notice the neighbors). I can't give it a 100% recommendation at the price they're asking now, unless everything else has gone up that much in 2 years. You can spend some time on VRBO.com to see if there is something better for you.

Best thing is only 1 block from the square and easy parking. We really liked basing in Sonoma, and preferred it's slower pace than Healdsburg. Though we enjoyed Healdsburg too.

Any other questions - just let me know. Good luck.
