Sonoma Midweek Vs Weekend in April

Its our first trip to Sonoma, travelling end April, and we are trying to decide between arrive Friday/leave Wednesday, or arrive Monday/leave Friday. Price is the same but we'd use more vacation time to go Mon-Fri. We are staying in Sebastopol. Are weekends noticeably busier, i.e lines at tastings/waits at restaurants? This may be our only chance and we want to make most of it. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Weekends are busier, but late April is not the peak season. Summer would be much busier and a hassle. I think you will be fine on your Fri - Wed trip.

We went to Napa/ Sonoma in April Thurs- Monday-- it was fine.  Keep in mind that many vinyards do close around 5:00 PM.  Sonoma is a lot less busy than Napa and we found that is was less expensive (to no expense) for tastings.

We are going in a couple weeks. We have always found that Sun-Th is the cheapest, with many places offering great specials. April won't be too bad, but you'll get more of a personal experience during the week as opposed to a weekend.
