Snowball quietly reunited with boy...?
Per the post noted below on SnowballsChance.org about an hour ago, it seems Snowball HAS been found and is with the boy now. The family did NOT want media circus.
The specific message post is:

The thread post is:

In the thread on page six, it explains clearly the confusion between another site that's still under the believe that the dog is still missing.
While I'd love to see a picture of the reunion, I can only imagine how wrenching it must have been. If this is true, applaud the parents in making sure their child is protected from further trauma which media circus folks would likely cause. A private reunion between family is what was truly called for. God willing this is what they got.

While I can absolutely understand the family wanting no more publicity, it certainly would be nice to have a good ending be seen in the spotlight for a change. Good luck to them all - these people will need all the luck they can get!

Fingers crossed that it's true. I thought NBC Nightly News did a good piece last night about the "lost animals" of Katrina.
During the recent floods in Switzerland, Germany, and Austria, it was routine for the shelters to accept pets with their owners. Given that so many people in NOLA and other affected communities point blank refused to evacuate primarily because they wouldn't leave their pets, it's mere practicality to change shelter "group think" regarding the no pets policies. By encouraging shelters to accept and plan for the arrival of pets as well as people, the govt disaster agencies could save manpower, time, money AND human lives.
