Snacks for hotel room on BI and Maui?

Hi,
We are spending 13 nights in Hawaii for our honeymoon in August (2 nights Waikiki, 4 nights Hapuna Prince on BI, and 7 nights Hyatt on Maui). I think we have a fridge in all of our rooms. I know eating out for 2 weeks will be expensive, so I do want to get some drinks/snacks for our room on the Big Island and especially Maui. Where would be the best place to shop on these 2 islands, and what kinds of food do you usually keep in your hotel fridges?? I was thinking crackers, cheese, fruit, etc...Thanks!

Didn't we discuss this already today for Maui? Are you looking for someplace other than Safeway?

Pumpy ... tsk tsk

For fridge snacks, buy what you like that will fit Something to consider is a collapsible cooler for daytrips (and stuffing laundry into as checked baggage going home). Else buy cheapo styrofoam cooler for drinks etc. Many hotel fridges are tiny and won't hold a gallon of POG let alone brewskis...

Oh, my bad. I didn't realize their were two beachgirls honeymooning in Wailea. But, what I said to the other beachgirl about Safeway. It's on the way to your condo. Look got the other post.

There are ABC Stores, but it's a convenience store and it's like buying snacks at 7-11. Long's Drugs has best prices on beer and wine, and they have snacks too.

Sorry, this what happens when I sit up working till 2 am!

On your way to the Hyatt you will pass the Lahaina Cannery Mall. There you will find both a Safeway and a Longs.

beachgirl86, I like to keep little cartons of yoghurt, cheese sticks, cream cheese, etc. in the fridge. Then if you bring in a bag of muffins or bagels, some fruit, you've got breakfast on those days you don't feel like breakfast out.

All Safeways are not the same! Even with the Safeway card, the one at Whaler's Village in Kaanapali was much more expensive than the one in Kahuli by the airport.

For snacks, also think of things that don't have to be refrigerated...we stacked up on peanut butter cracker packs and energy bars and found they were good also for hiking and driving around the island. Have fun!

Takemethere, did they recently open a Safeway in Whaler's Village or are you mistaken about that?
