I am trying to find some places to eat or visit in the area of Smugglers Notch VT.We are returning with the kids and they are happy to hang out all day at the great Smuggs. I am looking for interesting non hiking but active things to do.Breakfast ideas too! Thanks ....

Lots of restaurants in Stowe, just down the mtn from Smugglers. Not much in the other direction to Jeffersonville. There are places in/near Smugglers Notch Resort.
The Alpine Slide, just on the Stowe side of the Notch is fun. There is also a Gondola that takes you up to Mt Mansfield and you can drive up there on the Toll Road.
The Trapp Family Lodge is just up from Stowe too.
And of course there is always the Ben and Jerry's Factory near I89 (about 30 min from the Notch).

How old are your kids?
There is also the bike path in Stowe that goes along the creek. Bike rentals are available.
As far as restaurants, there are 2 Mexican restaurants on the Mountain Rd into Stowe. The Shed is good. There is a great Pizza place in Stowe (Pie in the Sky).
There is a great breakfast place that has the most amazing pancakes (forget the name).
Have fun. We love Smuggs. Kids have fun and adults can do "their thing".
You can also look at the Smuggs activities, lots of stuff.
