Its been years since I have been to the Smokey Mountains. We have a chance to visit again without the kids. We are looking for a quiet mountain lodge or bed and breakfast place that offers great views.
I have visions of a great porch, rocking chair and great chardonnay to view the scenery. Any good suggestions?

My favorite place to stay is Oak Haven Resort in Sevierville, TN.
All cabins have porches, rocking chairs, hot tubs, screened-in porches, Ducane gas grills...king sized beds!

On the NC edge of the Park is the Fryemont Inn in Bryson City--a really old style mountain inn.

I have stayed at the Fryemont Inn, and the food is really good. No TV in the room, just in the lobby.

Hidden Mountain Resort up above Pigeon Forge might suit you, too.

Faye...check out The Blackberry Farm in Walland, TN

The Richmont Inn in Townsend. The food is great, the rooms are wonderful, the view is spectacular. Very close to Cades Cove so you can get there early and see the deer (and maybe a bear). It's our favorite B&B in that area.

I second Blackberry Farm. It's expensive, but wonderful beyond words.

Try the Eight Gables Inn (which is featured this month in Southern Living) on the "spur" between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinguburg. Great location, perfect setting and very close to everything!
