Sites around Cincinatti -- (within 2-4 hr) please help!

Please, can anyone suggest some places to visit within a 2-4 hour radius of Cincinnati, Ohio? I am taking my girlfriend there to meet my grandparents, and we would then like to do some sight-seeing in the area.

I've shown her most of Cincy in previous trips and also the Columbus area, can you suggest other areas nearby?

I'm thinking within 2-4 hours there have to be historical sights, parks, misc. fun attractions?

Yes, I am also doing a search but hope you all will reply, too.

Thanks in advance.

Indianapolis has a nice zoo & downtown area. Lexington is beautiful, brick roads & beautiful houses, and Keeneland racetrack, if you will be there when the horses are running.

Lexington, Kentucky and the beautiful countryside and horse farms aroud Lexington are at least 1.5 hour to the south. Louisville is about 2 hours southwest. Many bourbon distilleries are within that area and available for touring and tatsing!

Visit the capitol city of Kentucky. Frankfort is only about 1 1/2 hour drive from Cincinnati. The downtown area is beautiful with old captiol building, and the old homes cira early 1800. My favorite home is Libery Hall that is suppose to be haunted and the gardens. Next door is the Orlando Brown house. I think you can tour both with the same admission ticket. Also tour the new capitol building with it's beautiful dome.

Across from the old capital is St. Clair street with a couple of pretty good restaurants. The first one that comes to mind is Seraphinis (not sure of the spelling).

Also take time to go to the Frankfort cemetary with wonderful views of the city and capitol building. Daniel Boone is buried there, along with other notable Kentuckians.

The Vietnam memeorial also offers great views of the city. The memorial itself is a giant sundial that has the names and dates of all Kentuckians killed in action.

The Labrot & Graham Distillery is right outside of Frankfort. I haven't been there before, but I hear it's wonderful.

Columbus IN for the architecture. They run tours daily, and we found it quite enjoyable. http://www.columbus.in.us/page.asp?page=Architecture
