Siesta Key weather in June?

It IS the beginning of the rainy season. But keep in mind that means that once a day, usually about 2P, the skies will open up and rain buckets. Then, almost as suddenly, the rain will stop, the clouds will go away, and with them will go all the humidity. Nowhere else will you find a thunderstorm like in Florida. It is not a bad time at all to be in the state, IMHO. You can't stay on the beach all day long so you can use it as your siesta time -- after all, why do you think they call it Siesta Key?

May can be pretty darned humid. I'd narrow it down even further to October--slightly better weather. There is the possibility of "storms" then but the likelihood of that happening when you are there isn't very great.
Those two months are both shoulder months. In the case of May, the season has just ended and things are much quieter. In October things haven't cranked up yet. April is perfect except for one thing...that's about the worst of "the season"--roads, hotels/motels, restaurants are all crowded, but otherwise, humidity is still low, air temps are pleasant and the water is swimmable--which is why everyone is here then!
I've been swimming as early as April 10, and after decades in the south, I don't go in if it's much under 80.
There was a very noticeable drop in traffic and occupancy as of last week. It was as if everyone packed up and left at the same time. Driving down to our favorite haunt, Woodys, last weekend, it was as if we were driving through a ghost town. Two weeks earlier we'd tried to go down, struggled through traffic only to find their lot jammed, found parking 3 blocks away and then couldn't even get near the restaurant/bar it was so packed. We turned around and went back home. Anyway, my vote is for October or as early in May (like first week or straddle the months of April and May) as you can make it.

People in Florida go to the beach when it's summer. Especially people with kids who have the summers off. It's mostly the tourists who are at the beach in the fall or winter. I guess our theory is that we go to the beach to cool off.
If your goal is to get in the water and you want the water to be warm, then you'll need to wait until mid-April to early May. Right now it's great. Well, for tourists it's great -- I like it a little warmer so I don't have to "get used to it". It's definitely swimable and nice.
As for October, I think that's good too.
