I think you'll be ok- I live in Atl. The gasoline pipelines into Atl have resumed limited flow this morning. The pipelines companies, which are private industry, will do whatever it takes to get the lines back to full capacity asap. There are some lines at gas stations and gas prices have been rising quickly. Many people panicked yesterday here. There are still LOTS of gas stations open. Our gas prices are still lower here than what you probably pay in Cal based on what I observed during 2 trips to Calif. earlier this year. Have fun at the race.

gas on the south side of atlanta was hovering somewhere between $2.99 and $3.39 - i got suckered into paying $3.49 yesterday afternoon, but i had no choice except for calling a cab to go home - that whole time spent at the gas station with the horns blowing and the screaming and the queueing and whatnot was probably one of the most apocalyptic times of my life...

The bigger question is do you have a hotel reservation? With people exodusing Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama, I would think Georgia would be a place to go if you were looking for a hotel room.

$2.79 at the BP station in Vinings. I saw other station in the Cumberland Mall area around 3.00 this morning.

I only noticed one station that was without gas. It was a Marathon station.

Thanks Gang: Yes we have our hotel reservation. My biggest concern is jet fuel at the Airport. I've already read one report of the shortages there.
