I think that some of you are being elitist and snobby. Suntrips gives joe traveler the opportunity to save in some instances hundreds of dollars-I recently went to Hawaii for $189 RT Oakland/ Honolulu on suntrips. And there was no delay and the flight was fine. Traveling isnt something only the wealthy should be able to do. And just because the tickets are cheaper, that doesnt mean that the experience will be terrible-but some people think that flying on airlines such as Suntrips and even Southwest is a sign that one lacks sophistication or something-an absurd and outdated mindset.

We took Suntrips 2 years ago, and have 2 different opinions (husband and I). I felt they were all friendly, decent food, on time (out of SFO), and they were running "kids fly free".... so, we saved alot of money on our 2 kids. On the other hand: you have to check in EXTREMELY early as this a "charter" flight, the seats are very small and not very comfortable, no legroom.... and they have squeezed 4 seats across in the middle by sacrificing some of the aisle-way on either side. The four seats across the middle worked well for us (party of 4), but everytime my husband dozed off --- he'd get bumped into by passerby because the aisle was soooo narrow. Also, people were letting their kids RUN up and down the aisle, since they couldn't keep them in their seats. VERY frustrating since our kids stayed in their seats and didn't bother anyone the entire time. Bottom line: if you can afford flying a "regular airline", DO IT. But, if you can only afford to go to Hawaii on Suntrips....then go. It's a short flight from the West Coast.

REPLY: Thank-you "royce" and "childcare lady" for your honest and detailed replies. I have flown on SouthWest before and didn't mind "budget" treatment since I wasn't paying much. But, not sure I would do Suntrips. They seem to be few notches below the bottom of the barrel airlines.
ps. as far as "sssssssss..." reply: I didn't understand your "get a life and advertise elsewhere" comment. I was simply asking about an airline, nothing more, nothing less. I think you need to get a life!

I think charters get a bum rap. We flew a charter (Applevacations) last June. The flight left several minutes early, we were actually the last passengers to arrive They checked our names off, we boarded, the plane took off 5 minutes early and like Suntrips, the kids flew free. It was a perfectly fine flight, new plane, nice flight attendants, even had lots of empty seats to spread out.
For us, it was definitely worth it.
