Shelburne museum: how does it compare with other historical museums?

I've been to all of these. Shelburne's specialty is American folk art, and it does an excellent job there. There is NOT the level of either living history or historical buildings you'll find in those first three. But you will find a good deal of art. If you main interest is historical architecture, skip it; if you like folk art, make a stop.

Another very beautiful place to visit in Vermont is Sherburn Farm(spelling?), which is often confused with Shelborne. It is a restored farm and estate on the banks of Lake Champlain. In it's day, it was one of the largest and most advanced farms in the US, and is a nice place for a day trip and picnic.
