Shedd Aquarium-discounts?

Does anyone know of any discounts to the Shedd Aquarium? We are just going there so the City Pass doesn't help.

Thanks

They offer discounts every Monday and Tuesday, now through February, and during Bears Sunday home games. Go to

I think it's free on Tuesdays as well but double check that day.

Thanks for the info, unfortunately we went on a Saturday and there seems to be nothing for Saturdays. I thought maybe there might be a coupon somewhere.

The aquarium is free on Monday and Tuesday (October-February only) but there is a charge if you want to see Wild Reef or the Oceanarium.

Kristi, I'm not sure there's ever a freebie time for the Wild Reef or the Oceanarium. They're well worth the admission price. Get there as early as you can on Saturday.

Actually there is a freebie way if you are a Chicago resident for the Oceanarium but not the Wild Reef.

I already went on Saturday and you are right about getting there early. We arrived a little after 9 and we were the only ones in line, walked right into the Wild Reef and had no problem getting a seat at the Oceanarium. Quite different from the crowd when we left a few hours later.

We've been to Shedd twice over the last 6 months, and each time was extremely crowded. Our first time was over 4th of July weekend, which I thought was probably just the date. Then we went on a weekday over Christmas break - again way too crowded to enjoy. I asked about it, and an employee said Shedd has become the most visited aquariam in the WORLD! In my opinion, it's not built to accomodate the crowds that are going. We bought a family memebership on line (5 in our family) which I think was less than paying full price at the door. Lucky for us, we were at least able to walk right into the aquarium instead of standing outside for 2+ hours. I'd go with previous posters who said go EARLY. That may have been our problem....
