Hi Teachergal,
I'm thinking that you probably know that the shark teeth are fossils, and their prevelence depends somewhat on the soil deposits near the beach where you are searching.
On our own beach in NC, there are a few sections where teeth are always on the beach after the tides, and then whole areas where they are almost never found.
Even though you may eventually find teeth on North Myrtle, it's alot more fun to look where you know there is a good chance to find some nice ones!

My parents winter in Galveston. Every year I find one or two...but I work to find them and other members of my family get mad because they aren't as successful. Our optometrist goes to the Florida Gulf Coast and finds handfuls. Hmmmm.?????
