shark teeth only in S myrtle?
We have stayed in both South Myrtle Beach and in North Myrtle. I love the quiet and less crowds found in North Myrtle, but there are NO sharks teeth to be found there. Why?

Sharks teeth are all over the beaches of the world. You just haven't found any in NMB yet.

Teachergal,
I sympathize! I can't seem to find sharks teeth here either (and I live here). But I have friends who find them all the time. As GoTravel said, keep looking. |
Hi Teachergal,
I'm thinking that you probably know that the shark teeth are fossils, and their prevelence depends somewhat on the soil deposits near the beach where you are searching. On our own beach in NC, there are a few sections where teeth are always on the beach after the tides, and then whole areas where they are almost never found. Even though you may eventually find teeth on North Myrtle, it's alot more fun to look where you know there is a good chance to find some nice ones! |
My parents winter in Galveston. Every year I find one or two...but I work to find them and other members of my family get mad because they aren't as successful. Our optometrist goes to the Florida Gulf Coast and finds handfuls. Hmmmm.?????
