A few Healdsburg B&B's within walking distance (listed in proximity) of the square are: Camelia Inn, Grape Leaf Inn, and the Calderwood Inn.

We decided on the Carmel Wayfarer Inn in downtown Carmel. Any thoughts on this inn? Anyone stayed there? Prices seem reasonable for a Bed and Breakfast/Inn, and the location is central to most everything.

At least go through Pacific Grove on the way to Carmel and walk along the ocean and view the beautiful and quaint bed and Breakfasts, especially Green Gables. Carmel is a great quaint place, and a neat walking area.

Thanks blondlady. After reading your post I did pull up the Green Gables and it certainly looks lovely--right beside the coast. We did however book the other place in Carmel which we think will work quite well. We plan to drive the 17 mile stretch so we'll stop along the way in several places in Pacific Grove, especially for walks along the coast. Tough decisions on where to stay, especially with so many great choices and spectacular locations. You folks are lucky to have such great scenery all around you. Now to work on Wine region lodging.
