Senior solo traveller to US for the first time

Thanks for that, LoveItaly.

I have booked my flight today so will be in your country at the end of April, can not wait.
I have decided to go with the California Zephyr to Chicago then fly to New York. Stopping off at Reno and Denver for a few days. I'm sure it will work out fine. I can put up with things not being quite perfect. Just being there will do me.

Sheila,

Since you are stopping over in Denver and have an interest in the arts & gardens here are a couple of websites you might be interested in:

www.denverartmuseum.org
www.denverbotanicgardens.org
www.denvercenter.org
www.cso.org

Denver's Union Station (where you will arrive) is downtown and close to many hotels and restaurants.

It is best to post a reply to one post and bring it to the top (ttt) so it is seen by as many people as possible and you receive the help you need.

You can always click on your name to find your post and bring it back to the top.

Have fun planning your trip!

That should be a nice time to be in Chicago, plants should be budding and flowers in bloom.

I don't know what climate you are used to, but you could run into some cold weather on yuor trip, so be sure to pack acordingly.

Are the any questions that you have?

Keith, when you say cold do you mean just jumpers or coats?

I would take a medium weight coat.

Denver and Reno have average lows in Apiril at about freezing and may be colder. Chicago's April lows average about 4C (38F).

Keith

PS: Over here we call jumpers - sweaters.
