The Noah's Ark exhibit has timed entry tickets. Same day, walk-up tickets are subject to availability.

No it's not two buses to the Getty.

Palomar has free local transportation within 3 miles. Google lists the Getty at 2.5 miles.

This does not include return transportation. Catch the 761 bus just outside the Getty gates, $1.50 correct change only, or 25cents for seniors/62. Get off 10-12 minutes later at Westwood and Wilshire. Walk three long, uphill, horrendous, debilitating blocks to the Palomar. I hope you make it, such a strenuous ordeal.

The free Palomar van could also take you to the Westwood Flyaway Express Shuttle. It's $10 to get to LAX, drops off at each terminal. http://www.lawa.org/popup.aspx?id=300

Los Angeles is host to 3/4 of a million visitors each WEEK. Please folks, let's stop telling them all to rent a car. Have you looked at the freeways lately?......This is not rocket science.

thanks Clargriswold. We are hardy Canadians and can walk in -40 (not really) I will make note of your transportation advice. For LAX I prefer to take the shared shuttle with my luggage.

Don't need a kid to see Noah's Ark. It is interesting for about +15 minutes without one.

I just checked Expedia for my dates. The rate is $230+taxes. On the hotel website I got a CAA/AAA rate of around $200 with taxes.

Tips for those going to stay at the Palomar, join their Kimpton InTouch loyalty rewards program before your visit. They will give you a $10 credit on the minibar and waive the wi-fi charge for members.

Also if you ever find a better rate on Expedia than on the Kimpton site, they will match that and throw in some extra cash.

thanks, migb, I joined and will check the Expedia rates just before travel.

My last question on transportation, I promise. Is it better to pay the $119 flat rate to Primetime Shuttle for transport from the cruise dock than to take a chance on the rate from a cab?

They're both on Wilshire. The Palomar is in Westwood, closer to the Getty. The Wilshire is another 5 miles to the east, near the County Museum of Art.

ita, are there only 2 or 3 of you? If so, call them back and ask for the GoSedan rate. On the internet it is less than than $85. I do not know why they are quoting you that rate, there are several options that are less costly.

If you had trouble with booking this yourselves, try using Google Chrome and be sure you don't have any popup blockers.

Select From the Airport (one way) and under the drop down list you should find your cruise line port.

I tried online again. My problem is getting a quote from the cruise port to the hotel. It wants to only give me a quote from LAX to port. What are the less costly options?
