Sedona receives very little snow throughout the winter. Some winters, none. Flagstaff? That's another topic because Sedona is at 4,500 ft. and Flagstaff is at 7,000. When we do receive snow, it is usually a dusting that comes during the night and is completely gone by 10 a.m. We have lived here since 1984 -- so we know.

thank you so much! this is JUST what I needed to know! I saw online about RED ROCK FANTASY and it sounded really neat! Is Sedona the kind of place where things close down on Xmas Eve and Xmas Day or will there be restaurants open etc? My teenage daughter and I will be making the trip.

Most restaurants will be open as usual, especially those located at resorts. Most retail stores will close on Christmas Day. Red Rock Fantasy -- a big display of lights -- goes up at Los Abrigados, a resort in the center of town, next to Tlaquepaque, our arts & crafts village. Check the Chamber of Commerce web site for details as Christmas approaches. It's a pleasant place to spend the Holidays. Temps range between 30 and 50, with little chance of snow.
