Sedona

We are using a time share in Sedona for one week, flying into Phoenix and driving to Sedona. Any suggestions on other areas to visit while we are headquartered in Sedona? Although Sedona sounds beautiful, I don't think it will warrant the full week. We've already been to the Grand Canyon, so would like to check out some other areas.

Also looking for suggestions on things to see and do while in Sedona and the surrounding area.

Any suggestions would be appreciated - thank you.

I recommend visiting Montezuma Castle National Monument and Fort Verde State Historic Park near Camp Verde. There are cliff dwellings, hiking trails and interpretive center. they are a short drive from Sedona.

add a sidetrip to Flagstaff and the Lowell Observatory and Sunset Crater to the above list and you have a great trip...

I'm putting ALL of the above on my list.

Is it too ambitious to take a ride to Tuscon? Haven't been there in about 20 years and I know my husband would enjoy Saguaro National Park and get a kick out of Tombstone.

We spent a week in Sedona several years ago and had a great time. We made a side trip to Jerome and the Grand Canyon, but each day in Sedona we found a different trail to hike and they were all wonderful. We took the Pink Jeep Broken Arrow tour one day and also took the trolley tour. I don't think you will be bored spending a week in Sedona-we would like to go back.
