Secluded Vacation in Kauai

Hi Folks,
We are a married couple looking for our first visit to Kauai.

We are looking for places to stay that are by the beach and are really secluded. Yes, we plan on going skinny dipping!
We would like to rent an apt (may be vrbo.com)

Any suggestions, tips, locations etc will be really appreciated.

thx.

Kaua`i law enforcement officials are really getting vigilant -- ticketing (with fines) anyone caught nude on any of our beaches.

Skinny dippers beware...

You would think that therf are enough beaches on the island to allow sharing with skinnydippers

Definitely against the law on Kauai. But strangely enough, not on Oahu...

Another thing to consider is that depending on the time of year (winter in particular), the water can be very rough and the beaches in the north and part of the east coast are not swimmable beaches. So you might not be going in with or without suits.

I'd say that the most secluded and romantic beaches are up in the North Shore. Poipu (south shore) is a favorite of many people because it is sunny but it is also much more developed compared to the north shore which is more mountainous/jungle-like. I love the north shore for seclusion and don't even mind a bit a rain since it is always warm rain anyway! There are private apt/condo's on the north shore as well as some resorts such as Hanalei Colony Resort (I've never stayed there). I got engaged on the north shore and we go back as much as we can - so romantic!!!

Loved Sea Lodge on the north shore in the Princeville Resort. We stayed at Sea Lodge unit A2. Very romantic and secluded. Stayed at A2 last February. There is a small trail that goes down to a secluded beach. During times when the waves are large and it is not safe to enter the water the small beach was protected by the reef. I would never suggest goinf into the water where it is not protected by the reef or breakers.

Didn't see any skinny dippers but did see one guy playing an electric guitar with no clothes on over at Anini Beach!

I found Sea Lodge A2 on VRBO, here is the owners personal web site. www.kauaisealodgecondos.com

Have fun
