Seattle: Warwick Hotel or Inn at Harbour Steps?

Before you flame me, I already attempted to do a search here for information on these hotels. Unfortunately, The only comments on The Warwick were over two-years old and I couldn't find any comments on I@HS (other than the Fodors review section).

Anybody stayed at either of these recently? How do the locations compare? It's my first time in Seattle and I want someplace decent but not exorbitant.

Thanks!

AL

Warwick has a more convenient location. I would stay there or someplace nearby (a little farther south) if you get a good price.

Neither are in the center of the action, but the Harbor Steps would be my choice. It is closer to the Market and the Waterfront which means better restaurant and shopping choices. The Warwick is an older hotel in an older area of town.

Okay, now I'm really confused. That's one vote for the Warwick being in a better location and one vote for Inn at Harbour Steps.

What about the Monaco--would that be a better location?

Thanks,

AL

The heart of the downtown commercial core is 5th and Pine. That's where Nordstrom is many other major retailers. The Warwick is much closer to 5th and Pine than is the Inn at Harbour Steps. It is near the monorail to Seattle Center (where the Space Needle is), jazz clubs, movie houses, theaters, etc.

The Monaco isn't far from the "Inn," it is an office building converted to a hotel. It's rooms are dark.

Warwick is my "all-around" choice has the usually amenities and is centraly located, last time we paid $199 (Expedia)
Inn at Harbor Steps is "different"
More like a B & B ..it is the lower 5 floorsof a big condo so no "view" Beautiful inner courtyard and great breakfast. Our room was small but really nice-fireplace,comfy chair with big footstool, little desk-table.Didn't feel like we were in a big city, which is what we wanted at the time..We paid $ 250 --that is why I spent so much time in the room!!!
Last time we stayed at Mayflower Park for $ 200 with view of Space Needle. It is actually part of the building that makes up a 3 level mall--very convenient for shoppers and in the lower level is the metro station . This is free within prescribed downtowwn areas (as are the buses)

The Warwick. Hands down. We've stayed there many times and their rooms are very clean and beds are very comfy. The staff has always treated us the best. Plus, it's in a better location. Your only 2 blocks from Westlake. Warwick also has some great bed, breakfast and parking packages. Have a good trip
