Seattle one night - which hotel is best
I'm staying in Puyallup for business for a few days. I'm flying out of SeaTac on a Sat 11:30 AM and want to find a hotel in downtown Seattle for Friday night so I can see the city, have dinner and possibly get to Pikes Mkt. very early on Saturday before I must get to the airport for my flight. Any suggestions?
where to dine?, which hotel?, best way to get from hotel to airport early on Saturday AM? Thanks!!!

Hotel Andra with dinner at Assagios or Lolas?
Mayflower Park Hotel with dinner at Andalucas or Il Fornaio?
Take a taxi ~$35 or use the Greyliner Airport bus ~$9 (stops at major hotels like Westin, Sheraton, Warwick) to get back to the airport.

Re airport bus: you'd catch it in front of the Westin if you're staying at the Mayflower or the Warwick if staying at Andra.
Although it is cheaper, it may take a bit longer to get to the airport because of looping thru the other hotels to pick up passengers. There's a website showing schedules and costs.

When is your trip? If in cruise season (May-Sept) Fri. night accommodation downtown will be scarce and pricey. If not, then you might give Priceline a try at the 4 star level, downtown only. Many folks are getting either the Sheraton or Westin, either of which would have airport bus service and would allow you to stash your bags at the front desk while you toodle off to the market (5 min. from either) for breakfast (Cafe Campagne, Athenian Inn or Lowell's) and an early walk through the stalls.
Sat. AM traffic to Seatac shouldn't be a big deal, so if you want to be there by 10 - 10:30 you shouldn't have a problem leaving downtown around 9:30 - 10.

Any suggestion as to the better place to get off for Inn at Harbor Steps if taking the Grayline Shuttle? Crowne Plaza or Fairmont Olympic? How easy is the walk (wheeling a bit of luggage)? Seems worth it to save $20 plus for two of us in a taxi?

Patrick, Olympic is closer by 1 city block, but it will still be a approx. 4 blocks walk down to your hotel.
The other consideration about using Greyliner: they run approx. every 1/2 hour and then loop thru a list of hotels. So instead of a 1 min. wait at the airpot & 20-25 min. taxi ride, and zero walking... you might be looking at 1/2 hour wait at the airport & 45 min. bus ride, and then the 4-5 blocks walk with luggage. You can figure if that's worth saving the $20.

The website shows 33 minutes from the airport to Crown Plaza, or 36 minutes to Olympic. Not sure how true that is, but at least those are the first two of the downtown hotels they stop at. You have a good point. If we claim our luggage and have just missed a shuttle, we might likely take a taxi instead of waiting another half hour.
After flying from Florida, though, we won't mind the walking!
