The U Village Burgermaster is pretty interesting culturally. Their big menu and long hours attracts a much larger and more diverse clientele than other places - breakfasters, elders, lots of immigrant folks (I wasn't joking about Russian-speaking help - the manager of the store went out of his/her way to employ refugees from the old USSR 10 years ago) - so while it is indeed somewhat shopworn inside, it's an interesting place. And the food is okay-to-good too.

The car-service Burgermasters in Bellevue (no recent Gates sightings but there have been in the past) and on Aurora are still going strong, with malteds on trays hanging on your car window, and a degree of "show-off" car paint jobs in evidence now and then.

Cactus in Madison Park, mentioned above, is a wonderful spot. Pretty neighborhood too.

Gardyloo--Don't you work in Everett? A new Burgermaster is coming in there soon. We used to hit the Mill Creek one.

For a really good but expensive restuarant go to the Metropolitan Grill in downtown Seattle. Found this place one hungry winter night walking around Seattle and always try to revisit whenever I manage to make it to Seattle. Mention it in case you want one splurge meal.

mms, yes, it's open - in a former Burger King on Evergreen Way. Not a typical Burgermaster experience, but the same food.
