Seaside/Destin at Christmas?

Hi,

My family is considering spending a couple of days at Seaside/Destin just before Christmas, and was wondering if anyone could tell me what things are like at that time of year. I am well aware that the weather can be dicey but we are not really into hanging out on the beach anyway. I am more curious about if the restaurants are open, what activities are open, etc. Thanks!

Bump in hopes someone who has been in the area at Christmas will see this.

The only thing I can think of that closes down is the water park. Otherwise, restaurants, shops, etc. all stay open year round.

Drove through there a couple of years ago between Christmas and New Year's. There were a lot of pedestrians out and about, so obviously enough going on to attract people. Temperature was probably in the 60s that day.
