Seafood Restaurant in Baltimore

Anybody have a recommendation for a good seafood restaurant somewhere within a mile or two of the Inner Harbor. Not looking for places like McCormick & Schmick's or Phillips because sometimes these chains tend to be hit or miss, depending upon the day.

Would Obrycki's in Fells Point be a good choice? Anybody have any recommendations?

I've heard that Kali's Court in Fell's Point has really good seafood. Same w/ Legal Seafoods (although that's a chain).

Kali's Court is a great choice. No matter what anyone else tells you, avoid the Black Olive. It is completely over-rated, although it technically fits your description. Kali's Court also has a "lite" sister restaurant next door, called Mezze, which is also great, but more small plate oriented. Although both places are Greek-ish, their seafood selections are simply prepared and excellent. A brand new bar/casual place in Canton is Mama's on the Half Shell, owned by the exceedingly popular folks from Nacho Mama's, a mexican place that is packed nightly. Mama's is fun, Kali's is serious.

Budman,

I have been to the Rusty Scupper and had a great meal(for a chain). It has a view of Baltimore right on the inner harbor.

Good luck!

Hi

I've had many good meals at O'Bryckie's and never had one to complain about. They have good seafood. They have a stuffed hard shell crab that is stuffed with crab cake filling and then the entire crab is dipped into a batter and deep fried. Uuuuummmmm good!!! If you like good Maryland crabs you could also try Bo Brooks.

IMO, no good reason to go anywhere other than Obrycki's for a really good Baltimore seafood meal. Authentic and reasonable. Cold beer and crabs, and lots of other other good stuff on the menu (like crab cakes- no seirously they do have fish, etc.) for those who don't like crabs with their crabs. Enough said.

Sone and daughter in law love the Bay Cafe. Has outdoor bar. Views of the outer harbour. We have a gift certificate we haven't used yet. So if you go, let us know what was good.

The places I recommend are either Mammas on the Half Shell in Canton which is 2 miles southeast of the Inner Harbor or La Scala which is an italian restaurant but has great seafood and great service.

Budman,
I just returned from a weekend trip in Baltimore. I heard Obrycki's is great but it doesn't open until March 16th. After discussing the place to have the best seafood, we decided to give up a restaurant atmosphere and eat at Faidley in the Lexington Market (parking but we walked from the Inner Harbor). I posted on the board and just noticed someone else recommended it to us! It is an indoor market and you stand and eat but I thought the lump crabcake was great and it was busy. We also went to an incredible restaurant called "The Blue Agave" - it was awesome. With great drinks and wonderful seafood and mexican food. I would suggest reservations. It is in a really cute area called Federal Hill (we walked to the restaurant). It got voted one of the best restaurants in Baltimore and we were delighted!!!

There are several small neighborhood places for seafood, including Angelina's on Harford or Belair Road for crabcakes; LP Steamers in Locust Point for general seafood, and a new place called Blue Sea or Blue Water for "upscale" seafood. I should know the name of this place, since it's right next to my office. It's down in the Power Plant live area near the harbour. Since i can't eat crabs, I can't really vouch for crabs at these places, but they're highly rated. Of course, Blue whatever just opened on Friday.
