Avalon/Stone Harbor (NJ Shore) romantic restarants?

Can anyone recommend an upscale romantic restaurant in either of these towns? I've heard Cafe Loren, but that's it.

This is for a b'day dinner for my husband, Thanks!

I believe there is an outpost of one of our favorite local restaurants, "Sorella Rose", in that neck of the woods, but I don't remember where exactly as we tend to prefer the more commercial beach towns. Avalon, maybe?
I would call them mid-scale rather than upscale, but aside from a mildly negative experience with a catered Xmas party, we've always enjoyed their food and eat there regularly.

There is a restaurant on the border of Avalon and Stone Harbor called "The Backyard" that has very upscale food. It has an inside/outside feel and the patio chairs are not upscale but the food is. It is BYOB. We go there every year and are never disappointed. Another decent restaurant is the Sea Grill in Avalon. They are known for their steaks. The Backyard would be my choice- but it literally is a house-indoor seating-with a backyard- outdoor table under twinkle lights. For a romantic dinner ask for outside seating under the grapevines or in the gazebo. Hope this helps.

Thank you Avalon4, we will take you up on on your recommendation.

How does Backyard compare to Cafe Loren? Also, how are the prices? I'm not able to find much detail on the internet.

Thanks very much!

Entrees are around $20-30 and appetizers and desserts $8-12. It is a la carte and byob. The chairs and tables aren't fancy but the twinkle lights, grapevines and food are fabulous. You should call ahead for reservations if it's Fri or Sat. Enjoy.
