Which restaurant in Destin should we consider for a rehearsal dinner?

We've never been to Destin before and we'll need to choose a restaurant to host a rehearsal dinner for our son and fiance for 15-25 people. They are getting married on the beach and they will have a catered reception at the clubhouse of the Destin Gulfgate (condos). They say The Back Porch restaurant is a walk on the beach away. They suggest Harry T's but I really don't like the looks of it on their website. (Way too formula). Any ideas, anyone?

Well, the Back Porch is very casual -lots of Southern red necks and kids - don't get me wrong - I love it there, but I don't know about a rehearsal dinner. Harry T's is a little more upscale than a TIG Fridays. I don't really have a great suggestion for you. There are several really nice restaurants on 31E near Seaside but Destin could be a challange. There is a new Bonefish in Destin and it would be nice. Good luck!

McGuire's is a nice place and lots of fun. You may want to call them and see if they have a room to accomodate your party. Everyone loves the atmosphere at McGuire's and the food is always good. It's right at the foot of the bridge over Destin harbor.

you may want to look into landrys seafood house. It is newer, larger, and more of an attractive building. I haven't eaten there but it seems like it might be a good in between for back porch and harry't's, and less expensive than bonefish grill. back porch is too crowded, casual, and noisy. Harry'T's is rather dingy and choppy inside. good luck

You might look at the Fishermen's Wharf restaurant. It is located directly on the harbor and has great views. It is a lot elegant and less touristy than the Back Porch. The prices are pretty reasonable and the seafood is great (try the grouper platter).
