Going to Scottsdale in March with 2 teensagers. Do they have indian ruins close by and if only one day there, what must we see.

Forget the Indian Ruins if you are her only for 1 day... Kierland On Scottsdale Rd /Shopping Center is awesome and outside. There is a new Westin HOTEL right behind the mall. Sedona is about 2hrs drive. That is nice place. ASU campus is nice also.

On the way to Sedona, there is an indian ruin called Montezuma's Castle. I think there is a $3 admission fee and a little interpretive walk around the area. It's pretty small and doable in less than an hour.

If you go on one of the many desert jeep tours you will undoubtedly see petroglyphs and Indian ruins...before you come, check out the phone book under tours or when you arrive go to one of the major hotel concierge desks and sign up for one of the tours...it will be a very enjoyable day.

Teenage boys and girls: spring training baseball, AZ Science Center
Driving to Sedona and back will take all day and teenagers may find it boring. The Heard Museum is all about Native Americans in the Southwest, do that and stay in Scottsdale if you only have one day. The weather will be nice for laying by the pool or golfing.

Just got back from scottsdale and we went on a hot air balloon ride. The trip lasted 3 hours, covered 22 miles at 4000 feet. Included champagne breakfast.Sunset or sunrise tours. Great way to see the mountains and the city.150$/ person, worth every penny. Had dinner at the salt cellar, excellent sea food. Book the balloon out of the princess hotel concierge, you wont regret it.

If they have any interest in archetecture, Taliesen West is a must. It's not indian ruins, but it's a frank lloyd wright wonder.
