Schenectady NY College Visit
Heading to Union College soon. Looking for a decent place to stay; most hotels are booked the time we are traveling. Open to a charming B&B if something like that might exist not to far from the school. Thank you in advance for suggestions; it will be a 2 nite trip.

Honestly, you can stay in almost any northwest Albany-area hotel. It's only a 20-minute drive from the Crossgates Mall to the college, and there are dozens of hotels right around the mall. If that's too far for you, search in Latham (around the Albany airport).

I agree with Doug - you can stay anywhere around the airport/Latham
Search for Latham - these locations are good and an easy drive west on Rt7 to Schenectady.
Hilton Garden Inn at the airport
Marriott Town Place Suites Latham - a few others near Northway exit 6 area.
Or even Colonie/Albany - there are a bunch of hotels on Wolf Rd in Colonie that would be easy to get to/from Schenectady/Union area. Not as close as the several above in Latham, but not too far.
3rd easy locaiton would be on Washington Ave, near Suny Albany. Also a bunch of hotels right there with easy access onto I90/NYS thruway.

I work in Schenectady a fair amount, but usually stay in locations mentioned above. I did just stay at the recently opened Doubletree in Schenectady though, probably one of the places that is booked. I went out for a walk and passed the Stockade Inn in the historic district and it looked quite nice, might be worth a look. Went to Johnny's restaurant downtown for dinner (first time) and it was very good.
