Scenic Wonders your help
I am really excited my trip is almost here and I can’t wait will be visiting Yosemite, and God I hope by now all is good (as far as roads been open) anyways last time I was here (1997) I stayed at Scenic Wonders, it was a beautiful 2 bedroom cabin and based on that I decided to rent from them again. What I need to know (I really can’t remember) how accessible are there accommodations to the rest of the park. I know it’s too late to make any changes now but, I do want to get my routes and places to visit in order. Thank you any thoughts in the property will also be welcome (Dogwood Retreat is the one I’ve rented)

When is your trip? Right now Hwy 140 is closed due to a second rock slide so you will have to enter the park on either Hwy 120 or hwy 41.
We just spent 3 days in Yosemite and came home on Saturday afternoon. The line of cars into the park was backed up over 150 cars at the Hwy 120 entrance station! If you are entering on a weekend, try and arrive early!!!! Those cars must have had to wait an hour or two just to enter the park!
The waterfalls were FANTASTIC!

Thank you, I will be arriving on Monday May 29 I know horrible been that Memorial day is that day but, honestly I do not know what I was thinking, we should be there by 10:00 a.m. the night before I will be staying in Oakdale (I did not want to drive the 4 hours) so I figured in-between place to know if I leave the hotel no later than 8:00 I should be there by 10:00 (I hope) is 120 the best entrance coming from Oakdale? and are you familiar with Scenic Wonders and how accessible they are to the Valley?
Thanks for your help

Oakdale is right on Hwy 120 so that will be your fastest route into Yosemite. I'm sure a lot of people will be going to Yosemite just for a day trip on the Monday of Memorial Day weekend, so be prepared to spend time in line entering the park.
Entering on 120 will put you in the Valley before you reach your lodging. You might want to take advantage of this and check into your lodging later. I've never been to Scenic Wonders, but it's about 15 miles and a 30 minute drive from the valley to there.

From Scenic Wonders you will not have to pass through the entrance station, the main worry will be parking in Yosemite Valley. Scenic Wonders is in Yosemite West, which is a small private inholding just over the park boundary line, so close that there is no entrance station in between. Bottom line is that for all practical purposes you are in the park, although not in the Valley. It is absolutely the best place to be other than in the Valley itself. It's a fifteen minute drive to the valley with no entrance station delays, it's five minutes to the Glacier Point Road...
So there ya go, the main concern will be finding parking once you get to the Valley. Grab what you can, leave the car, and take the tram or do some hikes, it'll be a zoo by noon.
