Scenic Drive through Bucks County
Hi,
It has been years since I traveled to Bucks County, but I recall seeing some of the most beautiful neighborhoods, homes, and landscapes in the Mid-Atlantic region. My husband and I will be visiting Philadelphia and New Hope this summer, and since it his first trip to this area, I would like to show him these sights.
Any suggestions for a scenic drive between Philly and New Hope OR a 1-2 hour day drive in Bucks County?
Thanks!!
Holly

Bucks County is beautiful, even though there has been a lot development in recent years. From Philly, I would take I-95 north to the New Hope exit. At the first light, turn right and drive about 1/4 mile and turn left onto River Road. It is a beautiful 10 mile drive along the river to New Hope.
After spending time in New Hope, continue north on River road (Rt 32) to Lumberville. Turn left on Lumberville Road (this is just past the Black Bass Inn, and just before the Lumberville Lumber shop). Follow this until it dead ends into Carversville Rd, and turn right. This will bring you back to River Road. Turning right will bring you back to New Hope.
Also, around Lumberville, look for the Cuttalossa Inn and turn onto that road (Cuttaloss Road I believe). Drive until the end of that road and turn around, back to River Road. Very nice a senic road!
Have a great time.

This is truly "Beautiful Bucks County" I would agree with the above as far as routes are concerned. I would also like to suggest a wonderful place to go for dinner, outside of New Hope a quaint, romantic, wonderful food, the Inn at Philips Mill. Country french food, excellent.I am just a customer, no personal interest. Bring a nice bottle of wine with you. On the right hand side, sits on the street, outside of New Hope several miles.

My best friend and her husband live in Philly. When I visit, they always drive me out to Bucks County and we visit an enchanting, story book little farm that has baby goats and sheep. It seems to attract quite a few tourists. Anybody know the name of the farm and where it is?

I found a great spot to check for Scenic Drives. Go to weather.com on the internet and look for the area that will allow you to customize your weather page. If you do it by "scenic drives" you can look up almost any state and it will give you a list of 1-8 or so with specific directions. Neat page.

Arabella,
The sheep farm you ask about must be the one on Cutalossa Rd..."smiling sheep", they call them. It is very quaint with a beautiful brick "farm house" across the street. I am lucky enough to live just two miles from Cutalossa and my husband and I bike that road very often. Our other favorite is Fleecey Dale Road, further up River Road past Lumberville.
