SB-Franciscan Inn???

We are ocean starved desert dwellers from Phoenix, and are looking at spending two nights, three days in this area. Have reservations at The Fransican Inn at a very good AAA rate - such a good rate that I'm suspicious. We don't need fancy, just good location, clean and a maybe little atmosphere is nice. Can anyone reassure me?

Other suggestions for our visit are most welcome!

I've stayed there and it's a pleasant, clean place within walking distance to the beach.

I've been researching SB for an upcoming anniversary trip in December. I have read many reviews on Tripadvisor and the Harbor View Inn is where I want to stay for two nights.

You can get in under a Bed & Breakfast package in an oceanview room for $205 Sun.-Thurs. Great rate! Has anyone stayed here and care to comment?

Also, I'm tenatively planning on one night at the El Encanto, just because you I can get a good one night rate there in a fireplace room for $209 on a Sat. night. Any comments on this property? ***kim***

I have stayed twice for 6 nights at Harbor View Inn and it is fantastic. Upscale place without being snooty, beautiful grounds/pool, large modern rooms, and all located accross the street from the pier and the beach.

Sounds perfect, I'm going to see if I can up-grade to a luxury oceanfront with the jacuzzi tub. What a deal for $205, the website shows the same room for $330/night. I've heard good things about their restaurant there, also.

knute, any opinons on great places to eat in SB? Wine Cask for the anniversary dinner, Olio e Limone for Italian? Brophy Bros. for a casual lunch and Cafe Azul for a Mexican meal! All sounds great. I want to make it over to the Four Seasons Biltmore and check that place out, also. Prices are outrageous wo our Entertainment Rate there.

Citronelle? I've heard good and not so good about this place. ***kim***

Eladio's (Habor View Inn) has a nice atmosphere. We just ate breakfast there. Our tastes aren't real exotic, kimamom. We liked Rusty's Pizza right across the street from the Habor View. We didn't care much for the Brown Pelican. It''s right on the beach but super expensive with average food.
