Savannah without much walking?

Think it is possible to spend a few days in Savannah with minimum amount of walking? (Hubby has foot problems) Know tours are available. Anyone know of hotel where we can stay and depart from there on tours?

Check out this site for some information on tours, etc.
http://www.savannahvisit.com/

I think that most of the tours stop at the major hotels on Bay Street.

A wonderful way to get around Savannah is by trolley. You can catch these trolleys by the vistors centers. They will give you a fantasic overview of the city and most have on and off privilages, which means you can get off at something that interests you, and catch another trolley later.
If you have access to a car, your hubby may also like going out to Tybee Island and enjoying the beach.

Another caution - Savannah street and sidewalk surfaces are often not walker-friendly, with stone surfaces, sometimes uneven. Foot problems often make one less able to accomodate uneven surfaces - if he ever uses a cane, this is a good time to haul it along.

Take the Old Town trolley. You can get on/off all day.Savannah however is in my opinion a walking town.Leisure walks from square to square with a good guide book or info from the visitor centre.Paul

Thanks all for your suggestions. We always did huge amounts of walking on our trips in the US and Europe but things change. We still want to travel but must be prudent in our choices. Think we could do Savannah and just enjoy what we can see by trolley.
Appreciate your comments.

A bit off topic, but for a real treat, make a reservation for a Full Afternoon Tea at The Tea Room at 7 E. Broughton Street. 912-239-9690

Food is delicious, tea is perfectly brewed. Not a Victorian froo-froo tearoom.

Please tell Becky and Elizabeth that Denise in Moncks Corner sent you!

Try the Gryphon Tea Room (run by SCAD) and let your hubby rest while you browse the SCAD shop across the street. Great, unique, hand crafted items by students and faculty of SCAD.
