Savannah with an 11 year old-- what should we do?
We are headed to Savannah this weekend for a competition that my son is participating in. It looks like we will have some time to see Savannah on Saturday afternoon and then again on Sunday. What do you recommend we do? My son loves sports and is very interested in American history. We also enjoy doing "active" activities. (and mom loves to go antiquing-- not sure this will go over well w/ son).
Also we will eat on our own on Friday and Saturday evening. My son loves seafood and is well behaved. Any recommendations for good restaurants?
Thanks.
Jeanne

We enjoyed eating at the Crab Shack on Tybee Island- sort of cheese-tastic with tiki hut type decor and great crab claws to crack. I found the holes in the middle of the tables with trash cans underneath to push your shells into a hoot.
The Bonaventure Cemetary, immortalized in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, is gorgeous and fascinating. Sort of macabre walking around reading tombstones but also very historically interesting and the scenery is truly lovely.
