Savannah rentals

Hi y'all,

Enjoyed the first day of the spring tour of homes and gardens. Azaleas are in full bloom, warm sunny day and no bugs (per earlier Savannah post!

I discovered a new resource for rentals in Savannah. Savvy owners of a gorgeous rental home in the historic district had the doors open as the tourists walked past from one tour site to the next.

Here's a link to that unit and the rental website -http://www.savannahgetaways.net/detail.cfm?ID=20

I just browsed the site and unit 1016 is the 4th floor condo rental where John Berendt wrote Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil!

For those who may want larger rental options in Savannah. For hotels, I still love the Hampton Inn in the historic district.

The house was absolutely gorgeous when we walked by. It was right on a beautiful Savannah square, just off Bay street, so just a couple of blocks from River Street but a block away from the congestion and traffic of Bay.

We also stopped at the Mulberry Inn for a very good buffet lunch. I've never had lunch there before but it was yummy. Lady & Sons was booked with private garden tour lunches - with Paula Deen present...IF her taping schedule would allow).

It's downright HOT here today. Mom rested in the square between houses while I ducked in the Mulberry for sweet tea to go. How perfect was that!?!?

For those who are familiar with Jim Williams, we saw the first home he renovated in Savannah. He used old slate chalkboards from Georgia schoolrooms for the flooring in the ground floor den off the kitchen. Talk about unique flooring!

I cannot picture flooring made of that sort of slate..but very unique.
I am still imagining throwing Pup in the car and driving to Savannah to stay for a week or so..

Well, the East Bay Inn on Bay Street in the Historic district allows pups. Some of these rentals do too.

It's an absolutely gorgeous time of the year in Savannah right now!
