Savannah in June
We just made reservations to stay at The Gastonian for 4 nights, starting June 19. We are flying into Jacksonville and then will drive to Savannah. Can anyone please help with:
1) 5 best things to do in Savannah?
2) 5 best places to eat, that are not too pricey?
3) Any suggestions on a day trip to Hilton Head?
4) Any thoughts on Gastonian itself? (My wife really wanted to stay here, despite the outrageous price. As a good husband, I allow my wife to get basically what she wants. Hopefully the place is as good as advertised.)
Thanks very much. I appreciate all helpful feedback.

We were in Savannah last June. Here is my trip report.
I would suggest typing Savannah into the search box and browse all the threads there. There are so many good recommendations for where to eat and what to do. As there are on my thread too, thanks to all these Great Fodorites!

Can't answer these specific questions, but you will be happy to know drive from Jacksonville to Savannah is totally painless - son (at school in Savannah) and husband did a Superbowl daytrip RT from Savannah to Jacksonville this year.
Just walking around the squares is my favorite thing to do. There is a trolley tour that is surprisingly good (not usually into that sort of thing). I also have a special bias for some of the art galleries of Savannah College of Art and Design.

PADAMS:
Anything else you can tell me about the Gastonian? Is parking a problem? Is it a far walk from everything? -- I see it's not real close to River Street, or several of the main places in the Historic District? Any problem? Is it safe around Gastonian at nite? Is the house on a main road (i.e., is it noisy with lots of traffic)?
Thanks (and sorry for all the questions)
