SARS in ChinaTown?

We are going to Oahu next month. Planning on visit to Chinatown in Honolulu. Should we skip instead in light of SARS?

No, the number of people with SARS is low in the United States. You will get a false sense of security by avoiding Chinatown.

Better yet, don't touch your eyes or face (it's hard until you get used to it). Maybe even wear a mask.

honolulu's chinatown is suffering a downturn in business across the board bc of rumors of sars. according to the state epidemiologist, the rumors are unfounded. the state's chief disease investigator has traced none of hawaii's 5 suspected cases (none confirmed so far) to chinatown. and at least some of the 5 suspected cases are non-asian hawaii residents who recently traveled to china. nothing to do w/ chinatown.

so as of today, the answer to ur question is no, u shdn't skip chinatown bc of sars.
