Santa Barbara Lodging
My husband and I would like to spend week between Christmas and New Years in Santa Barbara. We would like to find a nice quiet place, say 150-200 price range. Would like something charming and quiet. We will have a car so doesnt need to be right in town. Would appreciate your suggestions.

Hi Toonies. SB is pretty expensive. We have stayed at many many places over the years, but many have been re-done or re modeled.
As far as charming & quiet, The Franciscan Inn is near the beach but not right on the main drag, so quieter. Nice rooms, some have fireplaces & small kitchenettes. Cute. http://www.franciscaninn.com/accomodations.html
We stayed at the Upham B & B which was also cozy w a bit more charm (but smaller rooms) & more $$.http://www.uphamhotel.com/
There are places like the Casa del Mar or the Inn by the Sea which are older properties in samller buildings & close to the water.
I have not stayed there but Inn by the Sea seems to have your price reange for that week.http://countryinnbythesea.net/special-offers.php
Have a great time. Also recommended is Olio E Limone Itallian restaurant.

Try the Villa Rosa in SB. Nice quiet Inn, with Wine and Cheese at night and breakfast in the morning. A block to the ocean.

Country Inn by the Sea is well priced, in a good location, clean and comfortable. Staff has been very friendly when I've been there, decent continental breakfast. Also stayed at the Franciscan which is probably equally nice.
